Origami Fun: Discover the magic of origami and paper folding! Engage in fun activities to learn how math is actually a part of the art of origami!. Loom Weaving: Come learn about weaving with your very own tiny cardboard loom. So many colors, textures and possibilities! We will do a demonstration with Saori Loom.

NSF Center for Synthetic Organic Electrochemistry

Need a recharge? Build a battery! We want to build voltaic piles with participants- a smaller version of the first battery. Stacking zinc, copper, and paper washers dipped in vinegar, participants can build a battery to light an LED light! This activity lets participants learn about the parts of a battery- two electrodes and an electrolyte, and learn about the concepts of voltage and electrochemistry in a safe and engaging way.

Spin Pop Boom

Learn about crazy chemical reactions, overcome the greatness of gravity, and see combustion in action in this thrilling, action-packed show. Discover the amazing properties of acids and bases, experiment with the forces that act on roller coasters, and light up the stage with a booming exothermic reaction.

San Diego State University

San Diego State University representatives from science, health and engineering will provide engaging and interactive activities for students and families of all ages. Touch urchins wearing hats, code your own bracelet, build neurons out of pipe cleaners, explore the solar system in virtual reality and more! Learn directly from the SDSU researchers and innovators leading San Diego to new heights in STEM.

San Diego Community Power

Come test your knowledge about energy! We will help inspire youth of all ages to learn about clean energy and how we can work towards a healthier, more sustainable future for all San Diegans.
