This is NOT your average science event! The Barrio Logan Science & Art Expo is an inclusive annual event that brings together science, art, and culture. Join the Barrio Logan Association, UC San Diego, and various community partners as we highlight science, art and culture in the world around us and celebrate it through a relevant and cultural lens. Some demonstrations include the science behind lowriders, bikes, skateboards, tortillas, brewing, music and more! Explore, have fun, and get hands-on with marine science education! Engage with our aquarium Interpreters on the floor to learn about the animals in our Hall of Fishes, Gray Whales migrating off our coast, Specimens in our Oddities collections, and, some of the tiniest but very important organisms in the ocean, known as plankton. Each day will present different ocean-themed activities for the week. These activities are included with the price of admission.

What sounds like the beginning of a rather bad joke is actually a fun community program by the Fleet Science Center. During Two Scientists Walk Into a Bar®, local scientists will enjoy something we all do: a good conversation in a local bar.
No talk. No presentation. Just simple conversations in a bar.

STEM Possible is a career-pathways program geared toward high school juniors and seniors. The objective of STEM Possible is to show San Diego County’s high school students that no matter their interests or strengths, there is a place for them in the region’s science, technology, engineering and math, or STEM, industries.
