Beads Simulation of DNA Mutation
San Diego Mesa College STEM Conexiones
This experiment is presented by Courtney Russell, a second year student at San Diego Mesa College studying Mechanical Engineering. To understand how mutations are caused and how they are related to evolution. Since we only had ten seconds we expected to make some mistakes. DNA has to make duplicates and copies of a lot of information in very short periods of time so perfection is not expected of them either. These imperfections or mutations are a part of evolution, without mutations our bodies would not have learned how to adapt to the environment.
