Highly interactive booth with discussions covering the physics of nuclear fusion, states of matter (particularly plasma!), magnetism, and electrical power generation. Demonstrations will include the coldest volcano on Earth, electromagnetic launching of aluminum cans, cork launching via rapid expansion of gas, electromagnets, and plasma formation using a hand-held high voltage source and gas-filled tubes.

NDIA Exhibit booth goals are to have students learn about technology needed within DoD from our industry partners and military including Navy Diving Helmets, Robotics, a variety of electronic tools, lights, and lasers. NDIA members talk to the students and parents about careers in STEM and provided helpful information based on their real-world experience. Together we help awaken a greater interest in STEM and STEM education.

The Curiosity Cube is a retrofitted shipping container turned mobile science lab. The Curiosity Cube brings hands-on science experiments to visitors of all ages with the goal of sparking curiosity within the future generation of scientists!

Our booth will contain an approximately 6' x 6' foam surface on which a demonstration robot can be driven by program attendees. We will have a robot box that is about 2' x 2' x 3' in which we will keep supplies. We will have a tabletop display that is 4' x 6' on which we will describe our team's journey this season. Our practicing bridge engineers will share their knowledge and passion for structural engineering, which draws on math, physics, design, art, materials, and construction. In addition to illustrative exhibits, we provide an engaging hands-on model bridge building activity that is designed to introduce youth of all ages to basic structural engineering concepts. Bridge model kits are used, consisting of paint-mixing sticks, binder clips, chains, S-hooks, and large bottles of water for load testing.
