Cuyamaca College

Our booth activity aims to engage participants with Kumeyaay Science, fostering a connection between modern scientific principles and traditional knowledge. The booth will feature two engaging activities, each offering a hands-on experience that brings to life the intersection of indigenous wisdom and contemporary science. In essence, our booth activity offers a glimpse into the wisdom of the Kumeyaay people and demonstrates the relevance of their scientific practices in today's world.

San Diego State University

San Diego State University representatives from science, health and engineering will provide engaging and interactive activities for students and families of all ages. Touch urchins wearing hats, code your own bracelet, build neurons out of pipe cleaners, explore the solar system in virtual reality and more! Learn directly from the SDSU researchers and innovators leading San Diego to new heights in STEM.

California State University Program for Biotechnology (CSUBIOTECH)

Host a booth to showcase the work of biotechnology in the Cal State University system. CSUBIOTECH provides grants and awards, organizes the annual CSU Biotechnology Symposium, promotes industry-responsive curricular innovations, and serves as a liaison between the CSU and government, regional and biotechnology industry partners, including philanthropic partners.

EcoVivarium

This is your opportunity to interact with our amazing reptile Ambassador Animals from EcoVivarium! Get hands-on with a giant python or boa - come face to face with a tegu or dragon! Meet a tortoise that will outlive the average person. See cool STEM experiment demonstrations and view samples of cultural art projects from our classroom programs. Educators will be on-hand to tell you all about our exciting hands-on programs that travel to schools, scouts, and other organizations.

Educreate

We will have a couple of hands-on activities, possibly including making play dough (for kids to begin to think in 3D and mold easy objects); 3D pen creations; fused bead projects, other ideas in the works. Booth visitors will learn about Clicbitz's UCSD Extended Studies college-credit approved courses for middle- and high-school students. Our curriculum: 3d printing, coding, maze game design, fashion design, sewing, sustainability, upcycling, alternative plastics, and more. www.clicbitz.com

San Diego County Regional Airport Authority

The San Diego County Regional Airport Authority is proud to showcase our commitment to sustainability and community well-being. Attendees will have the opportunity to delve into the nuances of airport noise and learn more about our Quieter Homes Program, a unique way we mitigate sound to enhance the quality of life in our surrounding neighborhoods. Additionally, we will share some of our important sustainability practices, demonstrating how environmental stewardship is woven into every aspect

Gastec International Corporation

Live demonstration of the Gastec Gas Detector Tube System consisting of a handheld non-electric Gas Sampling Pump and Detector Tubes (for up to 350 different substances) containing non-hazardous reagents in which there will be a chemical reaction resulting in a color change and thereby able to determine what's in the air. There is also a children's version available for educational purposes.
